The Eye of the Universe

I wanted that bean burrito
with warm refried beans
and mounds of sharp cheddar cheese oozing over them
I craved that bean burrito
topped with dollops of creamy white sourcream
and a handful of salty black olives
I stirred a small pot of warm the beans in mounting anticipation
proud of choosing to eat what my body seem to desire
glad that I possessed all the makings at hand

I pushed you away-
Resolutely!
Because I needed that bean burrito…
Or did I?

I pulled out my block of Tillamock cheese,
and sliced off just a small piece to pop in my mouth
So salty and savory, so good!

But you returned-
Resolutely!
Your large, sweet, deep brown eye
the eye that held the soul of the universe
piercing through decades of branding and conditioning
your eye found mine
Spanning oceans of culture and tradition
Soaring above mountains of corporate mind-rape

Slave holders, soldiers, prison guards- anyone that subjects another life knows…
cows eye1AVOID THE EYE- do not make eye contact
But your eyes drew mine-
contact was made
And they were crying
Blazing yet another “Trail of Tears”
left in the wake
of human gluttony and apathy

My soul wrestled within as the skin of my hand held the block of cheese-
This was no longer simple; one by one my arguments were extinguished
in this historical river of tears…
The cheese was no longer a beautifully wrapped, sensual morsel of deliciousness;
but an ensign of participation- to partake of this simple pleasure
Was to remain in the battalion of apathy and gluttony-
Was to partake in inhumane treatment of life!
It was to refuse the eye that bore witness to inconceivable amount of suffering

I had looked into the eye with such helplessness and despair.
Amidst a multitude of people, smiling, laughing, intrigued
People roaming about in freedom
eating, drinking, enjoying entertainment and food to the full
Holding their sacred children near
Mothers nuzzling their babes at their breasts
offering the nourishment perfectly designed for them

All the while you were held in the tight confines of a small barred-in cell
a machine relentlessly tugging on your breasts
that were meant for your babies
The crowds jostled about in their merriment, gawking on, avoiding your eyes…

Were the tears that ran from your eyes and the desperate pleading gaze
effected by a surging pain from the machine?
Or by a broken heart of your lost infant?
Or, perhaps by both?

I could bear it no longer- the farm at the fair.
I could not set you free, and I could not watch you suffer.
So I left…

But you have not left me
Your eye, streaked with tears of sorrow, burn on in my soul.

I wanted that bean burrito…
or did I?

Perhaps all I really crave now, is a bowl of warm beans,
spiced with a little hot-sauce
topped with a few chopped onions
and to cry, for you, for me, for us…

for the eye that held the universe,
and spoke into my soul
of tragedy so monstrous
Born of deadened hearts

The eye has awakened me

Stay awake my soul!

How Can I Help Those Who Feel Lost?

flora (3)

When grappling with how to reach out and help others that may be struggling through darkness, ask yourself three questions-

  1. Who inspired you to believe in yourself, to strive for a better life and/or to have great faith?
  2. Why did they inspire you?
  3. What did they do or say?

Then ask yourself the next three questions:

  1. What has broken you or caused you to lose faith in yourself, God or humanity?
  2. Who played a vital role in breaking you?
  3. What did they say, do or not do that may have been instrumental in pushing you over the edge?

Now you have some insight into what heals and what damages…

Take Down Your Internal Assassin

“Make sure your worse enemy is not living between your own ears.”

While sleeping, I had a dream…

A loud, aggressive, hateful woman was walking down the street alongside a sidewalk I was walking on. Following her was a group of defeated humans- some were being led to their assassination, others had weapons and were obeying her commands. She herself had a small handgun- and so did I. (we both had the same weapon)

They stopped in the street and the people braced their-selves to face their death. I watched in horror from behind a bushy tree, desperate to save them yet terrified of being seen.

Instinctively I knew, that if I could take the woman down, not only would I save the lives of the condemned, but I would set free the soldiers who only obeyed her out of fear. My hands shook as I pulled out my hand gun and checked the barrel to make sure it was loaded.

But the hateful, angry woman’s senses were too keen as her ears perked up to my subtle movements. She demanded I come out from behind the tree. I went to bring my gun up to shoot her, but she was quicker and drew hers up to shoot me. By a twist of fate, her gun did not fire. I took off running, her and the soldiers in hot pursuit behind.

I ran into a building and found a dark room in which to hide. I got my gun ready- aimed to shoot when she came to knock down the door. But I awoke before it happened.

All morning the dream kept coming back to me. I knew a message lay within the visions I had seen. Eventually it became clearer as I contemplated the fact that all characters in a dream usually reflect some part of your inner world.

The Hateful Assassin

Most people have experience with an internal assassin. This is the condemning voice that rattles on inside your head. He or she, gathers all your personas for assassination. She hates them. She has nothing but murder for them. Her hate is a product of deep rooted, unresolved anger. But she is blaming herself- her personas. She is aggressive and cruel.

Your core persona has compassion. Your core persona loves every part of her, even the weak parts, the failed parts, the shadowy dark parts, because they are all part of who she is as a whole. Each persona has offered life-perspective and been with her on her journey. But the angry persona wont have it. She sees them as weak and blames them for all of her misery. Both the assassin and the core have the exact same weapon. Each have the ability to destroy the other. If the assassin overtakes the core, then all that she is will die. But if she is able to outsmart and overtake the assassin, then all of her internal world will be set free.

The core persona is the only one who is equipped to take out the internal assassin. If she does not, the internal assassin will destroy all that she holds dear- all that life is to her. Your internal assassin will show no mercy.

assassinWe all have a responsibility to rescue our selves from our own internal assassin. As in the dream, she is powerful and is backed by an arsenal of armed soldiers that do her bidding. We may be frightened, weak, outnumbered, overpowered; we made need to find a dark room to hide and get our thoughts together and our ammunition prepared and ready for use.

It will only take one bullet properly aimed. It only takes us positioning ourselves right, aiming, and pulling the trigger. If we can give that internal assassin that one death blow, all can be free and unite in joy as one.

The loyalties of your inner persona are not to the assassin, but to YOU! Do not let fear overcome your resolve to be the hero of your own life. Do not allow that internal assassin to go on any further with her hateful, destructive ways.

What will take her down? What is the one bullet, the one gun that will wipe her out? What is the position we must take? Remove yourself from her aim, get out your gun, postition yourself to fire and wait for her to come to you. Your ammunition is…

LOVE AND ACCEPTANCE OF ALL THAT YOU ARE! freedom1

Look in the mirror and say to your SELF, with every ounce of passion and courage you have remaining within you-

“(Your NAME)- I am your BEST friend . I got your back! You are not alone! You are AWESOME. You are a valuable and beautiful soul. You deserve to be here and to live life to the fullest. I love and accept you JUST THE WAY YOU ARE!”

Those are powerful bullets. Aim and begin shooting!

Take out that internal assassin. Set your soul free!!!

Much love…

Leaves for Health and Healing

leaves

Beautiful nature offers us all we need to not only survive, but thrive. Fruits give us energy, minerals, vitamins, fiber and hydration. But did you know that their leaves also are packed with healing properties?

Try harvesting some leaves and adding them to a pitcher of water to infuse the water with their healing properties. Or cut them in pieces, place them in a mug and add hot water to make a tea. Dry, crumble and bag some leaves for later use. Label the bags with the names of the tree leaves and what their medicinal properties are.

Whirl dry tea leaves in a coffee grinder for a powder to add to your smoothies.

For those of you who have juicers, try adding a few fruit leaves to your juices.

Leaves are often used as food wraps, though cooking them will destroy much of their benefits so eating raw wraps or adding them to salads is probably best.

When I harvest leaves, I go for branches that need trimming anyhow; the fruit needs the energy and nutrients from the leaves to develop well, so do not over pick.

*Always consume organic, unsprayed vegetation only!

The following is a list of edible leaves and some of their benefits:

Grape leaves- commonly used to make Dolmades, grape leaves are rich in vitamins A, K, C, E, B6, niacin, iron, riboflavin, folate, calcium, magnesium, copper, manganese. Grape leaves are mildly anti-inflammatory, and can reduce edema, treat diarrhea, stomach issues, hepatitis and gynecological problems such as excessive bleeding and/or discharge.

Fig leaves- have been acclaimed to reduce the need for insulin in diabetics. They are rich in calcium and can also be used to to lower blood pressure, treat bronchitis, lower triglyceride levels, and relieve ulcers.

Raspberry leaves-  are high in magnesium, potassium, iron and B-vitamins. Known to strengthen the uterine and pelvic muscles, red raspberry has been utilized for centuries to increase fertility, strengthen the uterine during pregnancy, ease labor and delivery, and regulate women’s menstruation.

Mulberry leaves- contain calcium, iron, zinc, vitamin c and beta carotene. This is another leaf that has been shown to help with type 2 diabetes by reducing blood sugar levels. They contain GABA which can reduce blood pressure, increase circulation, and assist in overall health of blood membranes. Some studies predict that drinking mulberry tea regularly can help reduce cholesterol.

Loquat Leaves-  are antiviral, help the body release antioxidants, assists in the bodies detoxification by aiding mucus breakdown, can increase insulin production and supports the liver.

Birch leaves- help heal mouth sores, aid in healing bladder and kidney problems and gout, and is used to heal a variety of skin conditions including psoriasis.

Hawthorne leaves- are well known for their positive affect on the cardiovascular system and have been used in treating congestive heart failure, blood pressure issues, heartbeat irregularity, angina and high cholesterol and more.

Avocado leaves-  can dissolve kidney stones and strengthen kidney function, act as a diuretic to relieve swelling, reduce blood pressure, eliminate thrush, and aid healing from colds, coughs, and asthma.

Olive leaves- may prevent cancer, reduce and/or eliminate tumors, lower cholesterol and blood pressure and slow carbohydrate digestion reducing insulin fluctuation; they are anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, antioxidant, a treatment for arthritis and and a natural pain reliever; they can improve brain function and stimulate production of bone-building cells.

This list is just to pique your curiosity and get you started on your own research to the healing nature of leaves. What plant and trees do you have access to that are not sprayed? Do you have some of the ones listed above? Start there and do some more research on it.

Healing can be as simple as going out in your yard, picking a few leaves, rinsing them and making a tea. Mother Earth has provided the means. Use your intuition and the knowledge available to you and begin to apply the age old wisdom of Hippocrates to your life, “Let food be your medicine and medicine be your food.”

You just might be amazed at how much healing power you have right outside your door.

Making Meaningful Connections

connections1

All human misery stems from disconnection.
Pain is physical, mental or emotional suffering at varying intensities. Pain tells us something is out of balance and even life threatening.
Misery is extreme distress, and wretchedness of conditions or circumstances and definitely carries the component of pain.

Humans are designed for connection.
The only thing that connects us with God and with one another is love. Love is the only connecting energy in the universe. Everything that steers us away from love- even to the extreme of hatred, is disconnecting. Without love we drift away from God- our source- and from one another.

In order to connect with somebody in love, you have to put your full attention on them.
Connection takes attention with admiration- not agitation.
So many people are striving to connect with someone, but they are agitated, either about that person or about something else that is going on in their life. This agitation keeps them from their real and important focus, which is the person they are endeavoring to connect with. What they need instead is admiration.

When you focus on anything or anyone with admiration and love, you are going to make a connection.
Admiration is a feeling of wonder, pleasure and approval.
Most of us have relationships that we want to improve- relationships with spouse, child, friend, coworker, God, or even self!
Try focusing on the one you need better connection with, with admiration and love.

Focus! Admire! Love!

Key ingredients to real connection.

Add a Little Sparkle to Your Life

Joy

The sparkles of life are the moments- the experiences of pure pleasure; it is that exquisite dinner, that breathtaking sunset, that intense and connected time with a loved one. They are the moments that make up our fondest memories. They are what makes life worth living.

We seek for love, happiness, companionship and experiences, all because these feel good. It therefore stands to reason that when something feels good to go with it, and when something feels bad, leave it. Joy, happiness, love- all feel good. They are the spark of life. Here are some ways to help create more sparkle in your life:

  1. Count your blessings: Begin NOW! Look in your immediate surroundings and circumstances for what feels good. There may be a lot to see or a little, but find it! Focus on it! Think about why it feels good. What senses does it evoke?
  2. Upgrade your experience: Ask yourself, is there anyway I can make these feel good areas feel even better? Example: I love this hot cup of coffee in my hands. It smells wonderful, and is warming to my cold fingers. Perhaps a shake of cinnamon and little cream would make it even better? Can I take 5-10 minutes and sit somewhere to really enjoy it? Maybe even outside listening to the birds, or while reading a small passage from a book I love. Maybe sipping coffee with a friend or spouse is even better?
  3. Remove the Irritants: Are there any distractions or irritations that I can remove now? Do not get caught up in what you can’t do anything about, but rather, just remove or change what you are able. Perhaps you are sitting in the living room and you just clear your coffee table, dust it off and light a candle. Maybe a little child is hampering you. Can you distract him/her for a moment while you enjoy your coffee?
  4. Try new things: Go new places, taste foods you’ve never had, listen to different music, play a new game. If you were a tour guide in your town, where would you take tourists? Are there places nearby you have not yet visited? New experiences can often be exhilarating. The more you experience, the more things you will find that feels good.
  5. Write it down! Keep an ongoing list on a notepad that you can quickly access- perhaps in your notes on your phone or a small paper pad you can keep with you.  Just reading your list regularly will evoke better feelings. Whenever something feels really good, add it to your list.  Incorporate as many of these listed things into your life regularly. Here is a sample list of things that feel really good to me:
  • Laughter
  • Yoga
  • Hot baths
  • Massaging essential oils into my body
  • Puppy time- hugging and petting my dog
  • Brunches with my girlfriends
  • Sipping on hot Chai tea
  • Laying in the sun
  • Warm sand between my toes
  • Swimming
  • Spending time with my grand-daughter
  • Chatting with my children
  • Opening windows and hearing the birds in the mornings
  • Popping a large bowl of buttery popcorn and watching Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter
  • Browsing shops in newly visited towns
  • Outdoor picnics
  • Flying a kite
  • Planting flowers and veggies we love
  • Smelling roses, violets, Lilacs and honey suckle

The more personal and detailed it is, the better. With each thing you add to the list, it should evoke a pleasurable, peaceful, joyful emotion.

Sometimes you will add something to your list and notice that it doesn’t really feel good. Explore this. Perhaps you are doing something that you feel is supposed to feel good, but for you it doesn’t. For example, maybe spending time with your grown children actually feels stressful but you feel like it should be pleasant. The best thing to do is to acknowledge your real feelings, and ask yourself why you feel the way you do about it.  Maybe you stress too much over pleasing them or perhaps they have issues you can do nothing about; but you really desire to be able to enjoy your time with them. This would be an area that is subtly sabotaging your happiness. Meditate and visualize how you wish the relationship was as if it is. Hold this vision as much as your are able, and remove this from your list for now, until it is genuinely something you enjoy. This does not imply that you remove them from your life necessarily but rather you are recognizing what really makes you happy and what doesn’t. Honesty is key to any real growth.

Unhappiness is often because we are not living consciously and not pursuing what feels good. Unless we can really know what feels good to us, we cannot pursue it.

If you do not feel good, you will not be happy. And you will not feel good if you are not seeking, finding and applying to your life those aspects that make you feel good. Its okay for life to be pleasurable. Its okay to add a little sparkle to your day!

Seven Ways to Harness the Full Moon Energy

moon

Tonight is a full moon so everything we do will be amplified. Here are some ways to positively harness the intense energy of the full moon.

  1. Take an aura-cleansing bath. Add a few drops of Frankincense and one of your favorite floral scented essential oils to 1-2 cups of Epsom salts. Place this in a tub of water to soak in. Light candles. Pray for negative attachments to be release and cleared and for your aura to be filled with light and love. I also pray for the Christ spirit to be in me.
  2. Focus on what your highest intentions for your life are and then make a list of things that no longer serve those intentions. Because a full moon goes on the wane, it is the perfect time for letting go of things. Sometimes I do a ritual of burning the paper I wrote the things I want to release from my life, with thankfulness for how those things once served me, but now giving them to the fire to be transmuted into something more positive.
  3. Meditate/pray for others that have illness or particular situations that are not desired. Mentally see the negative aspects put in a bubble and sent out into the universe to dissolve, or placed in a glass boat and sent out to sea and disintegrated into the waters.  Then visualize that person in a healed and healthy place.
  4. Do a home/space cleanse to clear out any negative energy in your environment.
  5. Wash your crystals in cool running water and then set them out under the full moon light overnight to clear and renew their energy.
  6. Create and write out a personal mantra to repeat everyday until the next full moon. It should be something that helps you let go of something, overcome something or manifest something in your experience. It should carry a lot of emotion in it. It could be releasing a grudge: “I release this person from the anger I feel. I send them love and good will. I no longer hold onto the past.” A manifestation mantra could be, “I now receive abundance with joy and satisfaction in my life’s work.” Google “Creating Mantras” if you need ideas, but be sure to really personalize it.
  7. And finally, how about a moon party? Invite a couple close friends. Sit out under the moon. Do a ritual together, or just dance and celebrate the beauty of the full moon. Remember, the energies you put out will be intensified under a full moon. So celebrate. Allow life to be enchanting.

Removing Dark Spirits, Entities or Vibes from Your Home

Space clearing2

This morning I answered a post in a Facebook Group to a woman who was seeking help to get rid of a dark presence she felt in her new place of residence. I decided to share what has worked for me here for others who are searching for help in this area.

First, it is important to understand that EVERYTHING in this universe vibrates at a frequency. The highest emotional vibration is LOVE and the lowest emotional vibration is FEAR. Hence the scripture, “Perfect love casts out fear.”  High vibrations cannot stay in the same space as low vibrations- just as light dispels dark, so do higher vibration replace low vibrations.

Low vibration entities will have a very difficult time hanging around someone or some place with high vibrations. If you are fearful, the lower vibrations feed off this and become stronger. If you feel like you cannot shake your fear, then perhaps you should find someone who has experience in clearing entities from homes to do it for you.

The following steps are things you can do to RAISE your own vibrations and the vibrations of your home, and remove low vibration entities.

Supplies:

  • Frankincense Incense
  • Essential Oils: Frankincense, Rose Absolute, Orange or Lemon
  • Spray bottle
  • Purified water
  • Dust rag
  • Vacuum
  • Pure Sea Salt
  1. Open up all windows and doorways. Get as much fresh air circulating as possible. (If an certain open window or door takes away your sense of safety, keep it closed)
  2. Put on some energy clearing music or sounds. Use music that makes you feel elevated within your spirit. If the links I provide do not do this, then find something that works for you. (*See links below)
  3. Light the Frankincense incense.
  4. Meditate and pray, with gratitude and love. Envision a beautiful white protective light encircling your entire being and space.
  5. Mix in 2 cups of purified water, 10 drops of Frankincense oil, 15 drops of Rose Absolute, 4 drops of Orange or Lemon oil. Pour into squirt bottle. Spray soft cloth with mixture and dust furniture and fixtures throughout house.
  6. Vacuum and or sweep entire house.
  7. Pick up clutter- clutter blocks fresh energy from flowing through. Think of water coming through the entry ways. What would block it from flowing freely through. Furniture should be placed so as not to block this gentle flow. What would the water collect and float away? Put those items away.
  8. Place a small bowl of salt (about 1/4 cup) in rooms that feel especially dark. Remove and discard after a week.
  9. Take the squirt bottle, and beginning at the farthest corner of the house, spraying the water up towards the ceiling in long strokes, left ward, and going clockwise throughout your entire house. Continue clockwise from room to room. Spray around entire entry ways, in closets, under furniture, behind doors. Vibrations can collect, like dust balls do, in places that are stagnant. So be sure to get these areas. As you spray, repeat the following:

I command all entities that are not of love and light and are not here for my highest good and the good of all whom my life touches, to leave. You are not welcome here. Go into the light so you can transcend your present state. I ask that the angel spirits of love and light be with us and protect us and our home. I invite the Christ spirit into our home. (You can use your own words or change this, but be sure to command the dark entities to leave and let them know they are not welcomed there)

Some people use sage burning for the same purpose, which I have done as well, but the smoke bothers me and the water spray works just as well. The essential oils are very high vibrating oils.

Afterwards, spray the water around you and cleanse your vibrations by making a hot herbal tea. Holy basil tea is a really good one to use. Take a bath, adding a few drops of frankincense and lavender or rose absolute oils. Speak words of love into the water. Burn a candle in the bathroom while you bathe.

Repeat ritual anytime negativity is in the air of your home- whether because of a fight,  the presence of a negative entity (this can be physical as well as non-physical),  a scary, depressing negative program was watched in the home, or depressive moods are strong- anything that is lowering your vibrations and making you feel icky within.

To help keep your vibrations high, ask yourself several times a day, “How do I feel and what do I need.” Then take care of your physical, spiritual and emotional body.

Be mindful of what you allow into your home via media- music, TV, computer, books and people- all these can affect the vibrational space and work to bring in or block entities.

The Essence of God

  • The Bible teaches that God is a Spirit and we must worship within our Spirit and truth.
  • God is the breath of life; Yogis call this prana.
  • God is neither male or female but rather energy- consciousness; Spirit is our unifying being.
  • The Old Testament Bible forbade making images of God to worship- this practice distorts the essence of God.
  • When a person becomes wise, beautiful, healthy and holy, people are generally attracted to them because they are manifesting a greater degree of the essence of God whom is pure and untainted. We desire to become like that because it feels clean, safe and tranquil; but we must remember that it is not the vessel (the person) that we long for, but rather the Spirit within them- the essence of God.

Eight Practices to Develop the Essence of God in Your Life

  1. Prayer- Talking to Spirit or that higher consciousness as friend to friend. Giving thanks or gratitude. Asking for help.
  2. Meditation- Inner stillness. “Be still and know…”
  3. Commitment to High Vibes Life- healthy body, mind and spirit.
  4. Do no harm- Practice the art of making everywhere you go and all whom your life touches better for you having been there, even if you merely say a blessing over it.
  5. Spend Lots of time out in nature, alone- Sit out in nature where you can be alone and soak in it’s essence and beauty. Really focus your attention on every living presence around you and then realize within that it is Spirit’s essence that animates, colors, and gives it all life. Realize that the same spirit resides within you.
  6. Do not limit God- When you allow God to be I AM, and open your mind to the limitlessness of God, the essence of God will flow freely through you and all around you. Consider the Bible gives over 900 names to God; some of these are; Creator, Purifier, Holy, Mighty, Provider, Protector, Healer, Banner, I Am, Peace, Righteousness, Shepherd, Everlasting, Seeing, Star, Stone, Son, Author, First, Last, Ancient, Anointed . . . in other words, all encompassing. The Bible also says that we are God’s offspring and that in Spirit we live and move and have our being. So please do not shut your heart when someone thousands of years later relates to God as Universe or Spirit. These too are all-encompassing endearments of the self-same Spirit.
  7. Seek truth in all teachings. We are all teachers and we are all students- all the time.
  8. Acknowledge the divinity in all creation, whether people, animals, plants or earth- Namaste!
